David Nows serves as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University.

Nows’ main research interest is the financing transactions that fuel entrepreneurial ventures at their earliest stages, recently focusing on the topic of equity crowdfunding. He is the author of ten law review articles in total and has authored articles published (or forthcoming) in the University of Colorado Law Review, Nebraska Law Review, Drexel Law Review and Indiana Law Journal Supplement.

At Duquesne Kline, Nows teaches business organizations and securities regulation.  Previously, Nows has taught roughly a dozen different courses at the intersection of law and business in the business school setting, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Prior to joining Duquesne Kline, David was an assistant professor of entrepreneurship at Central Michigan University’s College of Business Administration, where he served in various roles as a faculty member for six years.  Nows led CMU’s Entrepreneurship Department for two years as chairperson and during that time, the department doubled its number of full-time faculty and developed new collaborative academic programs like a major in Commercial Music.

As an attorney, David practiced corporate law in Lansing, Michigan at a large, regional law firm.  Nows is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he was an Associate Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law, and the University of Michigan, where he majored in Communication Studies and Political Science.
